I am a huge fan of food… like seriously. When my wife and I go out or on vacation, I plan everything around good food. Since moving to Dallas, I have built a HUGE list of places to try on Yelp. Yesterday’s Gospel though focused on people who planned everything around seeing Jesus. They were so focused on seeing Him that no one planned ahead or thought to bring anything to eat. Cue the Miracle Worker.

As we all know, Jesus fed 5,000 people with seemingly nothing. Every Sunday, Jesus works a similar miracle. He feeds MILLIONS with seemingly nothing (what appears to be a tiny piece of unleavened bread). Rather than fish and loaves, He sacrifices Himself so that we can all say that we “ate and were satisfied.” Let’s be like those early disciples, so focused on Christ that we have to rely on Him to be the one that feeds us.
