We are a resurrection people. To be a Christian means to be a follower of Christ. Yes, He was a good person. Yes, He performed many miracles. Yes, He told some great stories. But we don't follow Him for those reasons. None of that would matter without His death and resurrection. Those events gave us insight into who He really was and is, but the events we celebrated this weekend are the reason we are Christians and the reasons salvation is attainable for us.
We have been saved, are being saved, and still need to be saved from birth until death. Christ’s love and mercy is constantly flowing out of that Cross, and the empty tomb is the sign of His victory over sin and death. Ever need a reminder of the lengths Christ is willing to go for you? Look no further than the Cross, and recall that only days later, He was (and is) risen! Alleluia!
