The Arrival

I order a significant amount of stuff on Amazon. It’s cheap and fast (no, this isn’t an Amazon commercial… stick with me). When I request for things to be delivered at home instead of the office, I run a big risk. Someone could walk by, see a package on the doorstep, and take it. If I was home at the time, I could receive the package and prevent this. Typically though, packages get there while I’m at work.

If I knew when the package would arrive, I would just wait for it if I could. I don’t know when it’s going to get there though. I have to be prepared for it at any time. I need to take precautions to make sure it will be safe.

This isn’t very different from how we’re called to be ready for our Lord. We don’t know when He’ll arrive. We just need to take the necessary precautions and be ready for Him.
